It is with mixed emotions that Fleet Car is announcing the retirement of Terry Clark effective January 1, 2017.
Terry’s long and productive tenure in the auto transport industry began 49 years ago when during high school and following his service in the Army, he went to work in the family business, Clark Transportation Company. During his time at Clark Transport, Terry learned the business, elevating to the position of Vice President of Operations.
From 1982 - 2002, Terry moved throughout the mid-west working for several regional and national carhaulers. During that span, Terry held a host of positions in operations for Coltrans Systems, Commercial Carriers, National Trucking, and F.J. Boutell, eventually working for Ryder Systems and Allied Systems through several industry consolidations and acquisitions.
Terry’s last stop in carhaul was Fleet Car Carriers. In October 2002, he was hired as the Terminal Manager for Fleet Car’s new terminal at the Nissan assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee.
Terry’s contribution to the success of Fleet Car Carriers is considerable. In addition to bringing decades of operational experience, Terry is highly regarded for outstanding customer service and the ability to work cooperatively with owner operators and drivers. Terry has been peerless in developing individuals, drawing on his considerable experience and knowledge.
Please join Fleet Car in thanking Terry for his service to Fleet Car Carriers and congratulating Terry and Jean as they begin what we hope will be a long and fulfilling retirement.
